My NEW Baby Doll Blanket and Hat Set!

This easy babydoll blanket is made from the seed stitch which is an alternating sc, dc throughout. The babydoll hat is made from double crochet.


US terms. 

A very beginner friendly project. Basic stitches are single crochet and double crochet.
Ch = Chain
Sl st = Slip Stitch
Sc = Single Crochet
Dc = Double Crochet


Supplies Needed:
H hook 5.00mm for the blanket, yarn needle, scissors and an I hook 5.50 mm for the baby doll hat. Medium worsted weight yarn in the colors of your choice.

NOTE: Blanket is made with alternating sc, dc stitches. You will always begin each row with a sc, and end each row with a dc. You will always do a sc in the top of a dc from the previous row and you will always do a dc in the top of a sc from the previous row.

Baby Doll Blanket: 

With H Hook Ch 63. 

Row 1: In second chain from hook do 1 sc. Then do 1 dc in next stitch. Continue to alternate the sc, dc across the row. You should end with a dc on the last stitch. Ch 1. Turn

Row 2: Begin the next row by making 1 sc in the bottom of the dc from the previous row. Do 1 dc. Continue to alternate sc, dc across the row. 

End each row with a dc. Ch1. Crochet blanket to desired height. Pattern shows a 17 ½ x 12 ¾ inch blanket without the border.

Blanket Border: Attach contrasting color of your choice and do 1 sc in the top of each stitch around the entire blanket.

Baby Doll Hat: Fits an 11 inch baby doll with a 10 inch head in circumference best , but the hat stretches to fit many baby doll head sizes.  
With contrasting color and I hook 5.50 mm.
Rnd 1: Magic circle. Ch 1.
Rnd 2: Do 12 dc in circle. Join with sl st to first dc. Ch 1. (Always join to first dc)
Rnd 3: In first dc do 2 dc and in every sc around. (20 dc). Join with sl st. ch 1
Rnd 4: Beginning in ch 1 space make 1 dc. *Then make 2 dc in next sc. Then 1 dc in next dc. Repeat from * around (30 dc). Join with sl st. ch1
Rnd 5: Beginning in ch 1 space make 1 dc. Make 1 dc in next  stitch. Make 2 dc in next. Repeat the pattern 1 dc, 1 dc, 2 dc, around. (40 dc) Join with sl st to first dc.
Rnd 6 -7: Dc in each Dc around (40 dc) Join with sl st to first dc at end of each round.
Rnd 8: Ch 3. Beginning in same space as chain Do 2 more dc. Sk 1 stitch. Sl st in next stitch. Ch 1. * Do 3 dc in next st. Then Sk 1 st and do a sl st in the next stitch. Ch 1. Repeat from * around hat. (13 shells made).  After last sl st. Skip last stitch and sl st in base of first dc of first shell. Fasten off and weave in ends.
